My name is Stephan Wirth and i am a software engineer by Zühlke Engineering GmbH in Eschborn (Frankfurt Main), Germany.
From hobby to profession
In 1998, I got my first computer and started with lerning programming for myself. Don't know what it was but it makes fun. My passion for programming starts. I was most interested in how to developing a Computer-Game. My first games are written in Pascal later in C and C++. But it was less or more just a hobby. In 2003, I started my computer science study and learned for myself OpenGL and DirectX. During my study I developed some more hobby games.
Also in 2003, I was interested in this new .NET technology and C#.
Most of my study projects are developed with .NET like my diploma thesis. Next to study projects I give it a try developing games with .NET.
First with Managed DirectX and later XNA.
In 2008, I started as a junior developer by keen games in Frankfurt (Main).
I was involved in the development of following games:
- G-Force (PSP, NDS)
- Anno - Dawn of Discovery
- Virtual Villigers
- Secret Files: Puritas Cordis
Why this BLOG?
My last project at Zühlke was the XING-App for the new Windows Phone.
I created this BLOG to share our know-how from the development time.
Furthermore i will blog about useful development stuff like programming, usability, performance, testing, tips & tricks, best practices, coding problems and solutions.
